Privacy
Last updated 1 October 2026. This covers the On Your Left website (on-your-left.com) and the On Your Left apps for iPhone and Android.
What we collect
- Gameplay analytics (Google Analytics). Anonymous events such as a game starting or ending, your score, how long you played, what hit you, and whether you're on the website or an app. Google Analytics uses a random identifier to count returning players. We don't collect your name, email or precise location.
- App usage statistics (apps only). The iPhone and Android apps also send anonymous counts to our own server: when the app opens, when a game starts and ends, a rough score range and run length, what hit you, ad and continue choices, the app and OS version, and a random ID the app makes when first opened (deleting the app resets it). They carry the day, not the time, and we don't store your IP address with them. We use them to count players and see how the game plays.
- Leaderboard. If your score makes the global top 10 and you choose to save it, we store the three initials you enter, your score, what ended your run and how long it lasted. Our server sees your IP address to limit abuse; it isn't stored with your score.
- Your best score and initials are saved on your device so the game remembers them. They aren't sent anywhere except as above.
Ads in the apps
The iPhone and Android apps show video ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location from your IP address, and ad interaction data to show and measure ads. On first launch you may be asked for consent (in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) and, on iPhone, whether to allow tracking. The privacy policy is linked from the title screen of the apps. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized. The website has no ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Children
On Your Left is suitable for everyone, but it isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Block analytics in your browser, or reset your advertising identifier in your phone's settings.
- Change your ad consent in the app: tap AD CHOICES on the title screen (shown where consent applies, such as the EEA, UK and Switzerland).
- Change whether the iPhone app may track you in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- To remove a leaderboard entry, email us with the initials, score and date.
